Contradiction in Terms: Shepard Fairey





Some thoughtful press agent forwarded me this video interview with Shepard Fairey of Obama poster fame talking about art and activism. Click here if the video doesn't work.

How does his marketing campaign for Saks fit into this spiel?

Kudos to Mr. Fairey for his excellent graphic design. As for his activism, the less videos made, the better.

Working both sides of the system seems to be paying off for both Fairey and Saks. His comments in response to the postings about the campaign bring a tear to my eye ;( for his poor staff.

The video didn't work for me, I'm using IE7 browser and it just gave an error message but I agree that the poster campaign art is very cool...

Aaahh, I wish I could get the video to work.

Anyhow, his "so called" rebellion does not merit all the hype, in my opinion
