O Christmas Tree

Thy leaves are so unchanging. The first known "Tannenbaum," or Christmas tree, song lyrics date back to 1550. Above is the Metropolitan Museum's beautiful tree and its famous nativity scene. Next on my list is the Rockefeller Center tree, which I can't wait to see all lit up.

I got the Christmas tree spirit myself this weekend, at the annual NYC Santacon. Taken by the tree at South Street Seaport.

Twas the night before Christmas

And all through the land
Santa was checking the chimneys
For tonight he must land.
Some chimneys are square
But some are thin poles
Yet old fat Santa
Must still go down those,
For all over the globe
Each good girl and boy
must receive his presents
and Christmas joy!

Electronic Pop Up Book Extraordinaire

Amazing, right? I've been mulling over making pop up books as Christmas presents. Then I came across this on Art:21 Blog. I'm not quite up to snuff yet, but if I can get my boyfriend to figure out the wiring thing, maybe. There's a wealth of pop up books on Youtube, should you feel similarly inclined to do present research this morning.

Chistmas Alert: Sale at the Met

The Metropolitan Museum of Art is hiding away a clearance sale amidst its collection. The items from the gift shop are marked down as much as 75% percent and has everything from scarfs and ties to books and umbrellas. The Met has some beautifully done pieces for the art lover in your life. (comme moi)

Location: Across from the bathroom's in the Egyptian wing, go down the stairs on the left.
